Time is ticking for those wanting to vote in the November 6th election. Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian Kruse says there are two big deadlines Friday.
Kruse says, “It is the last day to register to vote and that has to be done in person at our office. It is also the last day to request a ballot be mailed to an individual.”
Those registering in person must do so at their local Election Commission office.
Kruse says a record number of people have registered to vote in Douglas County. As of this morning that number stood at 356,704, seven-thousand more than in the 2016 election. He says early ballot requests are coming in fast and furious with more than 71,000 reported so far.
Kruse says, “Getting the ballot is only half of the battle. The other important half of the battle is returning that ballot. Any ballot that voters have in their possession must be returned by 8 p.m. on Election Day.”
