The founder of Jimmy John’s restaurant chain, Jimmy John Liautaud, visited Columbus over the weekend to present employee Zach Hillmer with a new Ford Escape to replace his ailing Chevrolet Cavalier.
Liautaud flew from Chicago to Nebraska after learning Hillmer took an ailing Army veteran to the hospital after inadvertently receiving a call for help.
The sister of Greg Holeman of Columbus mistakenly called Jimmy John’s, seeking help to get her brother to the hospital. She thought she had called a social worker. Hillmer didn’t hesitate. He picked Holeman up and took him to the emergency room.
Holeman is reported to be doing well, at home.
