In an apparent last minute change of heart, four-star recruit Wandale Robinson chose to play football close to home in Kentucky.
Robinson chose the Wildcats over the Huskers, Ohio State, Alabama and others.
Husker insider Sean Callahan said Robinson chose to wear the Kentucky blue because “I feel like that I can be that hometown hero type guy.”
For weeks several recruiting websites said the Huskers were the most likely pick for Robinson. And apparently dropped some hints as recently as Monday he might be heading to Lincoln.
Despite the fact the Huskers weren’t able to lure Robinson to Lincoln, they were able to land some talented players earlier this week.
Four-star receiver Darien Chase out of Vancouver, Washington announced his commit last Thursday, four-star tackle Bryce Benhart out of Minnesota announced his intention to sign with Nebraska, and three-star defensive back Javin Wright followed in his father’s footsteps Wednesday by announcing his commitment.
Nebraska’s current class is ranked number 18 in the country according to Rivals and No. 22 according to the 247Sports website.
