The Nebraska Department of Labor reports the unemployment rate in October at 2.8%, the same as in September.
The greater Omaha area unemployment rate remained 2.6%, while the rates in Lincoln and Grand Island moved up slightly. In both, the unemployment rate bumped up one-tenth of a percent. The Lincoln unemployment rate moved from 2.4% in September to 2.5% in October. The Grand Island rate moved from 2.6% to 2.7%.
The United States unemployment rate is 3.7%.
The Nebraska workforce grew from 1,036,626 to 1,039,493.
The workforce grew in Omaha and Lincoln and slipped a bit in Grand Island.
The United States workforce topped 150-million.
