Nebraska State Patrol troopers have seized nearly 80 pounds of marijuana during two traffic stops in Interstate 80 in western Nebraska.
Troopers stopped a car for speeding and failing to maintain a lane while driving east on I-80 near North Platte. A search with a drug dog led to the discovery of 48 pounds of high-grade marijuana concealed in luggage.
The driver, 27-year-old Doreen Cahill of Jacksonville, North Carolina, has been jailed in Lincoln County on drug charges.
A search of the second vehicle stopped near North Platte on I-80 led to the seizure of 30 pounds of high-grade marijuana. The driver of the sport utility vehicle was released, but a 17-year-old passenger from California has been detained in Lincoln County on drug charges.
