There have been more accusations made against a former Omaha first grade teacher charged with sexual assault of a child. Gregory Sedlacek was first placed on administrative leave from Fontenelle Elementary School and then arrested for child sexual assault of a 7 year old girl in his class.
The day of his arrest, Omaha police received four new reports involving 6 and 7 year old girls who were in Sedlacek’s classroom. The report shows that all the alleged assaults happened at the school.
Chief Deputy Douglas County Attorney Brenda Beadle says, “Until our office has the opportunity to sit down and go through those reports and brief with Omaha police as well as corroborate any of those reports, we won’t be filing any new charges yet. I anticipate there will be more to come.”
Sedlacek is being held without bond. Prosecutors say Sedlacek admitted more incidents at other schools where he taught. He says they happened at the Pine Ridge reservation and at Sacred Heart School in Omaha however the Omaha Archdiocese says they have no record of him teaching there.
This morning, parents of students attending Fontenelle Elementary School received another email from the district stating that the school Principal Eric Nelson has been placed on administrative leave. There is no word if this is in direct connection to the case involving Sedlacek.
