University of Nebraska regents made it official, removing the title “interim” and making Jeffrey Gold chancellor of both the University of Nebraska at Omaha as well as the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Gold became chancellor of UNMC in 2014. After UNO Chancellor John Christensen announced he would leave the post in 2017, a national search failed to land a successor and University of Nebraska President Hank Bounds appointed Gold as interim chancellor.
Gold, 66, will remain UNO chancellor until mid-2022, when another national search will be launched to find a permanent chancellor.
With the decision, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents gave Gold a $100,000 raise. His annual salary will now be $953,338.
