A couple of young Omaha men face numerous charges after fleeing from state troopers, first by car, then on foot.
The Nebraska State Patrol reports 20-year-old Maleka Goodwin and 18-year-old Deonte Temple were taken without incident near 108th and Center Streets in Omaha.
NSP says a trooper stopped a car for speeding on Interstate 680 near Pacific Street early this morning. Though the car, driven by Goodwin, came to a stop, it fled as the trooper approached. The trooper pursued until it stopped near 108th and Pacific and Goodwin and Temple fled on foot.
Other state troopers joined the search along with Omaha police officers and Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies until the two were apprehended.
Law enforcement found two firearms, ammunition, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia both in the car and the surrounding area.
Both men have been jailed in Douglas County on weapons and drug charges.
