A second man has entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge in the 2017 beating death of a Lincoln man in a drug dispute.
Thirty-seven-year-old Dominic Aguirre has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and attempted kidnapping of Phillip Madlock. Prosecutors agreed to drop a second-degree murder charge.
Lincoln police say Aguirre and 36-year-old Paul Clark severely beat Madlock, who died when they attempted to move him.
Clark earlier pleaded no contest to first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Clark ran a marijuana farm in California. He used Aguirre to sell to Nebraskans. Madlock failed to pay Aguirre for drugs. Clark demanded money back.
