State troopers took a teen-age driver into custody Monday afternoon after he attempted to flee on Interstate 80, reaching speeds near 110 miles per hour.
The Nebraska State Patrol say troopers spotted a vehicle which had been reported stolen heading south on Highway 31 near the Gretna Interstate 80 interchange. The pick-up fled west on I-80 with troopers in pursuit.
NSP says the pick-up exited I-80 at the 56th Street exit in Lincoln, drove into a ditch on the exit ramp, struck a sign, drove back across the exit ramp, and then drove south on 56th Street. A trooper used his patrol car to stop near the I-80 eastbound on-tamp at 56th Street in Lincoln.
The 16-year-old driver was taken into custody by several troopers and has been handed over to Sarpy County juvenile officials.
