Van DeWald is the lead meteorologist at the National Weather Service says, “It looks like winter is finally going to make a comeback for our area. We do have some rain developing on Friday. That does change over to snow Friday evening. It continues through Friday night and ends probably sometime Saturday afternoon.”
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday through noon on Saturday for Cass, Douglas, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders and Seward Counties.
DeWald says the northern counties in the advisory area could see one to three inches of snow. South of the Omaha metro area could see about five inches of snow.
Winter Weather Advisories are also in effect for southwest and central Iowa and northwest Missouri. This could impact travel due to limited visibility and snow covered roads.
