A 38-year-old Lincoln man has been awarded nearly $3 ½ million dollars in compensation for a railroad accident which sliced off half of his left foot.
Jimmy Rohr, Jr. still works for BNSF as a carman. Nearly five years ago, Rohr was working on the end of nine railcars when five other cars collided with them. It pushed the cars forward and one rolled over his foot. Multiple surgeries later, doctors had to remove his left leg, below the knee.
The jury in Lancaster County deliberated for eight hours before returning a verdict in Rohr’s favor.
